Hi everyone!

This document contains a step-by-step guide on how to complete the A2P registration in your Twilio account. The process contains 3 steps and ends with a review:

A2P stands for “application to person”, meaning - a new US regulation demands that any text message sent using a digital application or service (e.g. Twilio) will be associated with a registered legal entity (brand), a registered campaign (messaging campaign) and a registered phone number (used as the sender number).

In order to start we will log in to our Twilio account and navigate to Twilio Console > Develop > Messaging > Regulatory Compliance > Brands > Register Brand.

Brand Registration

Tax ID (EIN)

If you already have an EIN and already entered it into your account, you will need to re-register the existing "Twillio Campaigns" that you've already created as "Standard Brands" type (and then select your daily volume - low or standard).

If you don't have an EIN you will not be able to use Twilio until they roll out support for non-EIN accounts.

Business Details

A valid business name, first name, last name, email address, phone number, and physical address.

As can be seen in the example below:

Campaign Registration

Appropriate campaign choice for sending photo booth captures is: "customer care"/”Low Volume Mixed”/Mixed” based on your required volume

Campaign Description Example: “This campaign sends media attachments or web links to media belonging to our clients. The media is typically photographs or videos taken by our clients after using our photo booths.”

Sample Message #1 Example: “Thank you for using our photo booth. Here is a link to your photograph: [url].”

Sample Message #2 Example: “Thank you for using our photo booth. Your photograph is attached to this message.”

How do end-users consent to receive messages, For example: “End users opt-in by interacting with our photo booth's user interface and adding their phone number. They then check a box agreeing to receive text messages from our brand.”
