This article will show you how you can easily print your awesome photos from the FMBooth app!

There are two methods that you can use the Print Pal with - Wired and Wifi so let's get started and learn how to use them!

General settings


Print Test Page:  Click to print a test page.


Refresh Queue: Click to refresh the printer’s queue in order to print pending files.


Refresh Printer: Click to release all jobs and refresh your connection to the printer.



Wired Print Pal

To use a Wired Print Pal solution, connect the Print Pal to the iPad using an Ethernet cable in the following manner: 

  1. Turn on the printer and connect it to the Print Pal device.
  2. Connect the Ethernet cord to the Print Pal device.
  3. Power up the Print Pal device.
  4. Disable WiFi connection on iPad Settings.
  5. Connect the USB WiFi adapter (if using the MMS\Email feature).
  6. Connect the USB C to the Ethernet adapter to the Pylon's body.
  7. Connect the iPad charger and Ethernet cord to the USB C to Ethernet adapter.
  8. Make sure there is an Ethernet indication in the iPad Settings and make sure it provides an IP address (can take 1-2 min). 



Important note: when connecting the network cable (LAN) to the iPad, turn off the WiFi and make sure you see the Ethernet connection indication.


App Instructions

  • After confirming the Ethernet and IP indication as shown above, in the FMBooth app, go to the Global Settings screen > PrintPal> and for the connection type choose the Wired option, and then you will see an indication for when it is connected.

  • Hit the Print Test Page button to test your printout.


Internet Type

This allows you to browse through the available WiFi networks on-site and email\text your files while connected to the Print Pal. 

Press on "Dongle", choose the WiFi network that you would like to connect to, enter the network password (if such is needed), and click connect to connect.

Even though your iPad’s Network is occupied by the ethernet cable, it will not prevent you from connecting to the internet via WiFi, using the USB WiFi adapter connected to the Print Pal






WiFi Print Pal

To use a Wifi Print Pal solution, connect the Print Pal to the iPad using a Wifi Network in the following manner: 

  1. Turn on the printer and connect it to the Print Pal device.
  2. Power up the Print Pal device
  3. Connect the USB WiFi adapter (if using the MMS\Email feature).
  4. Open your iPad’s settings menu > Wi-Fi > select the FM_PrintPal_112 network out of the WiFi networks menu and enter the Print Pal Network Password (initial password is 12345678).



App Instructions

  • go to the Global Settings screen > PrintPal> and for the connection type choose the Wireless option and then you will see an indication for when it is connected.

  • Hit the Print Test Page button to test your printout.


Internet Type

Even though you are already using your iPad’s network connection connecting to the Print Pal using the WiFi Print Pal Solution, you can still connect to the internet with the help of the USB WiFi adapter connected to the Print Pal.

Press on "Dongle", choose the WiFi network that you would like to connect to, enter the network password (if such is needed), and click connect to connect.

Advanced

In the Advanced option, you can change the Print Pal network name and Password





Printing

In the Global Settings -> Printing, you can set and change the settings: 


Minimum Copies: Set the minimum number of copies you would like to allow the guests to print.


Maximum Copies: Set the maximum number of copies you would like to allow the guests to print


Padding Top/Bottom/Left/Right: You can add page padding to your print.
